Black Whiskey

Black Whiskey is a dive bar on 14th Street Logan Circle, which opened in May 2013. It has a laid-back attitude with over 200 craft whiskeys, large selection of beers on tap, and specialty cocktails.

The Goal
The Goal

Our goal was to create an authentic local dive bar in the Logan Circle neighborhood which specializes in craft whiskeys from all over the world.

The Process
The Process

The original characteristics of the building inspired the design direction to highlight and utilize the materials that were pulled from within. All of the woodwork was fabricated from the original wood rafters hidden in the ceiling.

The Outcome
The Outcome

With exposed brick walls, salvaged furnishings, flickering light bulbs, and soaring ceilings with the original dark wooden beams, the atmosphere gives off a gritty vibe with a quaint and dim backdrop for number of events including live music and DJ nights, stand-up comedy, art openings, and wedding after hour parties.
